Throughout this course, you will be researching and writing a paper in which you develop a distinctly Christian view of metaphysics and epistemology. The purpose of the paper is to help you think about philosophy from an explicitly Christian standpoint. In other words, what does the Bible say about major metaphysical and epistemological questions? To do this, you will read chapters 2–3 from Cornelius Van Til’s book, The Defense of the Faith. I am looking for you to use Van Til’s ideas to summarize your articulation of a distinctly Christian view of philosophy. You should use at least 4 additional sources to supplement Van Til’s book. These sources should be published books and articles from academic journals or academic websites.
Do not take the time to explain non-Christian views of philosophy, although you may show points of contrast between a Christian view of philosophy and other views. Focus specifically on writing a thorough Christian view with as much detailed explanation as you can.
The paper should be 1500–2000 words (6–8 pages), using Turabian-style footnotes, and should include a title page, page numbers, and a bibliography of all sources consulted in the writing of the paper. Â
