1. Define homophobia, and discuss various ways in which it may be expressed, its impact on heterosexuals, and how homophobic attitudes can change.
2. Define what a hate crime is, how hate crime affects LGBTQ people, and legislative attempts to control hate crimes.
3. Discuss some of the significant events in the global gay rights movement, beginning with the 1950s and continuing to the present time, and discuss the goals of the gay rights movement, including legalized gay marriage.
