Museum Exhibit

The subject is history, not history and anthropology. Your final assignment for this course is to develop a museum exhibit that explores a particular theme throughout different civilizations. Museum exhibits provide detailed written information in relation to objects on display, as well as information about the about the wider historical context. Follow this model for your virtual exhibit. Remember that you may create your exhibit as a PowerPoint presentation, Prezi, website, document, or multimedia format of your choosing. Address the following in your exhibit design: The information you provide for your exhibit should be written in full paragraphs, with appropriate citations. It should be organized in a fashion that flows logically, and naturally. Introduce the theme you had chosen to guide your exhibit. Introduce each of the civilizations you had chosen. Provide some supporting historical background information. Assume that your audience knows very little, and needs some general information in order to place civilization within a historical context. Explore the theme in relation to each civilization, making reference to supporting historical information. Incorporate each of the objects you have chosen for your exhibit Make sure you include: the title for each object an image, or link to each object a written description that outlines what the object is, its purpose, and its significance in relation to your chosen theme Include a summary at the end of your exhibit. It may be several paragraphs long. It should address the following elements: What differences, improvements, regressions, or changes were made by different civilizations in relation to your chosen theme? Explain the factors that influenced the differences, changes, or consistencies in your theme between different civilizations. Conclude with a brief reflection on how the theme has evolved and is represented within the world in which you live today. What have we kept from earlier times? How do we benefit from prior advances? What has been lost? Use the Chicago Manual of Style to format your assignments. Properly citing your sources shows you respect the ideas of others, and helps protect against plagiarizing. The formatting style should be used to create bibliographies, end notes, and/or footnotes.
