My selection of the career was motivated by the urge to become an important member of society. I found out about career counseling when I was in community high school/work release program. We were introduced to a team of professional counselors who guided us through the path of career selection. I sensed good about it and I was motivated to become a career counselor.

Career counseling looks into the current needs of the employment sector. Also, it looks into the needs of professionals from different professions. I would use this activity to help clients understand and know more about the global needs in the employment sector. Doing so will help to equip the client with the knowledge that he or she can use to fit in the global economy (Maree, 2016).

How could this activity help you become aware of ethical and cultural considerations for the client?

The activity promotes the concentration of clients. Also, the activity has helped to identify ethical considerations that should be factored in when making choices. The first ethical strategy will be discretion (Russell-Chapin, 2016). Counselors have a duty to promote privacy. With this in mind, it is evident that I will become more ethical and culturally considerate when dealing with clients.

Describe strategies from this activity you could use in career development program planning, organization, implementation, administration, and evaluation.

The first strategy is research. I have realized that research is paramount. The employment sector is growing rapidly and that means that one might be outdated a few years after choosing a career. Research helps to know the changes and trends. As a result, one can choose consideration of the trends that will take place. The second strategy is taking a holistic or diverse approach when looking into matters of careers. Taking a holistic approach helps one to focus on areas that are imperative in the growth and development of a career (Maree, 2016). Also, the modern world is diverse, and it is, therefore, advisable to become diverse.

How do you think this activity assesses the conditions of the work environment on clients’ life experiences?

The activity focuses on the needs of a client and factors that affect the client. Focusing on factors that affect a person is the same as focusing on the environment of the person. The activity looks into the impacts of the job on the client to understand the experience of the client. Therefore, it is no doubt that the activity assesses the conditions of the work environment concerning the life experiences of the client.
