Description / Requirements

  1. Your goals
    (200 words)
  2. List one short-term goal and one longer-term goal in nonacademic domains. The goals can be related to your career,
    personal interests, family, relationships, finance, health,
    culture, etc.
  3. Provide a brief evaluation of your two goals based on the
    frameworks, principles, and/or any concepts covered in the
    module (e.g., SMART framework, success principles in goal
    setting).
  4. Use SMART goal format for both your goals
  5. Analysis of goals;
    facilitating actions
    and barriers;

  6. Analyze your goals by discussing what the goals tell about
    your background, personalities, and beliefs/ values and other
    concepts from Module 2.
  7. For each of the two goals, list two actions that may help you
    move forward or accomplish the goals, and two barriers that
    may hinder your goal pursuit.
  8. Use at least two examples related to your past experiences to
    support your discussion in this part.

    All university work, including the references used to support your
    discussion of the self-awareness concept in this assignment, requires you
    to cite their sources in a Reference List. Students must follow the Deakin
    APA7 guide.
    Submission Instructions
    Submit your essay as a Word document via the designated assignment drop boxes – please no PDF
    files. You must keep a backup copy of every assignment you submit, until the marked assignment has
    been returned to you. In the unlikely event that one of your assignments is misplaced, you will need
    to submit your backup copy. Any work you submit may be checked by electronic or other means for
    the purposes of detecting collusion and/or plagiarism.
    Notes
    Extension requests: Extension requests before the due date can be made by emailing the Unit
    Chair at least 3 days before the assignment due date via g.digby@deakin.edu.au All requests
    require documented evidence of the extenuating circumstance(s) causing the delay in submission
    (e.g. medical certificate, police report, Learning Access Plan). Extensions can be given for 1 day up
    to a maximum of 1 week in this Unit due to the number of assessment tasks and the short
    turnaround times for marking. Extensions sought later than 3 days prior to the due date must be
    supported by formal documentation.
    Penalties for late submission: The following marking penalties will apply if you submit an
    assessment task after the due date without an approved extension:
    • 5% will be deducted from available marks for each day up to five days, and work that is
    submitted more than five days after the due date will not be marked. You will receive 0% for
    the task.
    • ‘Day’ means working day for paper submissions and calendar day for electronic submissions.
    • The Unit Chair may refuse to accept a late submission where it is unreasonable or
    impracticable to assess the task after the due date.
