Understanding Psychological Disorders and Therapy
Chapters 14 and 15 of your textbook Hockenbury, S. & Nolan, S. (2018). Psychology. Eighth Edition, describes several disorders and therapies. For this assignment you are asked to select a disorder, describe it, and explain which therapies might be helpful to those suffering with this disorder. Your paper should be a 3-5 page double-spaced essay describing a disorder and how it could be treated.
For each disorder, describe the disorder and explain possible causes. In addition, you must select two types of therapy and explain how they would benefit a person with the disorder you selected. In your paper, define the therapy and explain how it specifically applies to a person with the selected therapy.
You have several options of disorders such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, and schizophrenia. Be sure to select a disorder (for example, depression) and not a category (mood disorders).
