Two stakeholder barriers that could be experienced during the implementation phase of the evidence-based practice project include the time used to train for the program and to follow through with the problem long term. The first barrier is time to train for the program, this is a barrier because especially with covid many training and education opportunities have been sent through email. This can be a problem because often times staff do not have time to check their email at work or read the email. It can also be confusing to launch a new program over the internet and not have opportunities to ask questions. To address this problem, I would like to have interactive training sessions that allow the staff to use the algorithm and use the computer program if necessary. These training sessions could be completed before or after a shift and could take around a half hour.

The second barrier is following through the program long term, I believe it can be difficult to maintain changes long term if there is not proper follow up after the implementation of the program. One strategy to assist with long term follow up is involving experts on the topic or mentors at the beginning of the project to support the change. Another important part of long term follow thorough is administrative support early in the project to support the change as a system. To assist with this barrier I would like there to be “champions” of the project from all levels from floor staff to management (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2015).
