Requirements:
This reflection requires you to spend a minimum of 3 hours exploring & thinking about our
college campus. Your job is to look for and list as many examples of gender stratification as you
can. These can include, for example, the percentage of male instructors versus female instructors;
the number of male sports teams versus female sports teams (as well as funding inequities
between the sports teams); advertisements, posters, and/or graffiti that objectify or demean
women (or, for that matter, devalue femininity); and gender imbalances in different departments
or programs (such as more male engineering majors than female engineering majors or more
female health sciences majors than male health sciences majors). Some of this information can
be retrieved online and your notes should include the source of any information taken from
websites.
